The actual problem with clamp mounts
A clamp mount needs two hands and a moment of visual attention to seat the phone correctly between the arms. That’s a minor inconvenience in a driveway and a genuine distraction risk at a junction, which is exactly when people reach for their phone mount. Magnetic mounting removes that step entirely — align and release, one hand, done.
Where it holds up
Attach and release are genuinely one-handed. There’s no clamp to squeeze open, no arms to adjust for a case, and nothing to fumble while also watching traffic.
